Immediately off the coast of a certain landmass is a series of rock formations rising out of the ocean known to the local civilisation as the Three Witnesses. This formation consists of three large rock stacks, with the largest in the centre, the second largest to its right (left as viewed from the coast) and slightly farther back, and the smallest to its left (right as viewed from the coast) and slightly farther back than the second. It is believed these rocks were placed by the Creator(s) as testimony to the Act(s) of Creation.
Archaeological expeditions have shown that the Three Witnesses have long been the site of ritual practices: in the earliest days three sacrificial victims were slaughtered annually, one each upon the tops of the Witnesses, which were never approached otherwise. It is postulated that over time this practice somehow evolved into the modern custom of annual swimming races around the Three Witnesses, but as the locals are notoriously tight-lipped about their ritual practices there is no way for Outsiders to know for sure.

=== Behind the Scenes ===
*Neither the landmass nor the civilisation in question has been specified as yet; this was left open intentionally to allow for future Moves to develop the geography and culture freely.
*The exact nature and number of the Creator(s), and the Creation story, in the local mythology have not as yet been determined.
*This Move was partly inspired by [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Twelve_Apostles_(Victoria) The Twelve Apostles] off the coast of Victoria; the Three Witnesses are presumably of a similar size (proportionate to the relevant species).

=== Iron ===
Iron ore is comparatively rare in the main world; coupled with the relative scarcity of sturdy wood, this has led to a number of effects:
*Iron is considered a precious metal and is commensurately expensive.
*Tools are generally iron plated (if at all) rather than solid iron.
*There is a much higher reliance on stone and bronze in toolcrafting.
*Technological advances have been retarded by the dearth of raw material.

There have been some attempts at forays into other worlds to acquire high-quality iron ore; however, these have been beset by disaster (harsh environments, hostile native species, &c.) to the degree that no economically viable source of import has as yet been identified. However, attempts continue.

Move 3:

Interwoven throughout the fabric of the inhabited worlds is a force of nature known as the Potential. It is by harnessing this Potential that certain species of intelligent being are able to perform acts of what we might otherwise call magic. Each member of those species possesses an organ called the auní which serves as the means for interaction with the Potential. In those with stronger auní the ability to make use of the Potential is stronger, but the degree to which they are affected by it is commensurately stronger as well. Those rare individuals without functioning auní are referred to as unsensed (analogous to blindness vis-à-vis sight or deafness vis-à-vis hearing) and cannot interact with the Potential at all: they are both entirely incapable of using magic and entirely unaffected by it.

=== Behind the Scenes ===

The term 'Potential' was introduced as a placeholder name; it is up to a future Move to confirm it or to replace it as that Player sees fit.
The Potential is envisioned as functioning as a natural force, akin to electromagnetism, which obeys scientific principles and which has always existed, but which has taken centuries of study and experimentation to learn to harness. There is as yet no determination as to the level of advancement in the use of the Potential in the main game world.
