Text
Wammywoo introduced the move with the original text:
- Move 9: The rifts
- We know that there are "cracks" or "rifts" in the natural world. The strings that connects the material world and the mirror dimension are realised as the rifts in the natural world when there is a high concentration of the strings.
- How does this happen? Due to migration and movement of different creatures that are connected to the potential the strings get knot up. These "knots" create the rifts that are hotspots of plugged, unstable potential. The rifts could be described as volcanoes of the potential but look more like a mix of geysers and canyons.
- The effect they have on inhabitants are different depending on if they have the Potential or are unsensed.
- One with the Potential would experience a mind of supercharge, reminiscent of being on Ecstasy or being drunk. They feel a rush. This is due to them attracting the Potential and inhabiting more than they're capable of.
- There are two types of unsensed, there are the affected and the neutral unsensed.
- The affected unsensed are the ones who do not have a connection with the Potential themselves but have been surrounded with it that it kind of "rubs off" on them and therefore the rifts would make them feel confused and manic because they would attract the Potential without having the ability to actually hold it.
- The neutral unsensed are the ones who haven't have been in enough contact with the Potential to have it rubbed off on them. So when they are close enough ot get in contact with a rift instead of attracting the Potential themselves they feel a draining effect, as if their life force is sucked out of them. It normally isn't lethal to them.
- I hope this is alright and sorry for being so late with it!
On 11 August 2020 00:15 UTC, the text was edited so that "Potential" was lowercased and an addendum was added.
Trafalgar recorded the move to the Canon with the following text:
- Move 9: The rifts
- We know that there are ""cracks"" or ""rifts"" in the natural world. The strings that connects the material world and the mirror dimension are realised as the rifts in the natural world when there is a high concentration of the strings.

- ***EDIT***
- The unsensed can only perceive the physical attributes around the rift of the Potentiam but can not sense or perceive the actual Potential itself. It appears as being sealed, like a geyser with a lid, while creatures with a functioning auní would perceive the Potential and not a ""lid"".
Trivia
- The Rifts was the tenth move in the Greater Game. It was misnumbered "Move 9" and recorded in the Canon with the misnumbering.
- This move was introduced by Wammywoo and managed by Trafalgar during Round 2.
- The reason for the edit was that RavShimon pointed out, "The whole concept of being unsensed is that such creatures have no interaction with the Potential whatsoever; I don't think this fits with that."
